Challenges I Faced While Starting My Tech YouTube Channel
Challenges I faced while starting my Tech YouTube channel.
In the previous posts, I shared the journey of starting my Tech YouTube channel and Blog. Now, please let me share the challenges I faced initially.
The first major challenge for me was coming up with topic ideas. Initially, I didn't have any issues coming out of topics for my Tech YouTube videos.
As you have already read in my previous posts, I had purchased a slew of tech products like a DSLR, several tripods, a couple of microphones, and a few other gadgets. I had seen other tech channels uploading unboxing videos, so I followed them and created unboxing videos for all those products.
I had set a rule for myself that I would upload one video every day, no matter what. For the first few days, when I had gadgets to unbox, I had no issue shooting one video and uploading it. Although Internet speed was an issue for me, I still managed to follow the rule for the first couple of weeks of starting the channel.
You can understand how committed I was to uploading one video daily with an incident that happened. Within the first week, there were some communal issues in my area, and the local administration decided to implement an Internet ban for two days. As there was no Internet, I couldn't upload my daily video.
What I did was I packed everything and went to a different place almost 50 Km away from home where the Internet was accessible. Today when I remember that day, I feel how enthusiastic I was about creating new content and following the rules I had set for myself.
Everything was going well until I started falling short of gadgets. I had already shot and uploaded videos for the devices I had.
Now I started thinking about what I should upload and came up with the idea to shoot face cam videos talking about the latest Tech development. I hadn't faced the camera before that. It was challenging initially, but anyhow I shot that first face cam video.

The next huge challenge for me was video editing. I was terrible at it. I didn't even know how to make a cut in between. Until I learned it, I used to shoot my videos in one take. While shooting the video, if any bloopers happened, I had to reshoot the video. When I first learned I could make cuts and edit the bloopers part, it was such a relief.
Once I had these things in place, creating new tech videos was a joy. I kept uploading new videos; the more I uploaded, the better I got at it. My fluency in the videos was improving, and so was my presentation. This gave me the confidence that I could do better in this field.
But the next biggest hurdle was getting into YouTube Partner Program. Back in the day, YouTube was going through massive changes in its partner program. Mainly due to a flow of new creators on the platform. These challenges affected me a lot.
I will share the issues I faced getting into YouTube Partner Program in tomorrow's post.
Thanks for taking your time and reading till the end. Have a wonderful day!
