The Bad Habit Most Content Writers Have: Not Delivering on Time

· 3 min read

Most content writers have this bad habit.

In my last post, I discussed a common problem among content writers. I wrote that most content writers make the mistake of writing the same thing that is already there on the Internet. You guys well received that post and shared your valuable input. I thank all of you for your valuable suggestions. In today’s post, I will write about another common problem of most writers: not delivering their work on time.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have worked with hundreds of writers in the last five-six years of my career. After working with so many writers, I have realized most content writers have a serious problem of not delivering the promised work on time. When I first started my Blogging journey, I used to think only some writers had this problem, but as I progressed, I witnessed most of them have the same habit of not showing up on time.

The problem is so serious that most bloggers have to hire more writers than they need just to ensure they achieve their publishing goals. Occasionally there may be some valid reasons for not showing up on time, and I totally understand it. But some writers always have some reasons or others for delaying their work.

If a writer does this several times, it feels very unprofessional, and no one would want to have a long-term working relationship with such individuals. Some good writers also make this mistake, and for them, the reason is the loads of work they have at any given point. If your work is getting delayed due to unavailability, say no to some clients, so you don’t affect the work of all the other clients.

So my suggestion for all of you is to always deliver your work on time. Consider all the factors when giving a deadline. If you promised your client to deliver the work on a particular date or time, ensure you fulfill your promise. It builds a different level of trust between both parties.

There may be some situations when you will be seriously dealing with an emergency. It is part of life, and we can’t control the uncontrollable. In those situations, you can inform your clients that you are dealing with this emergency and the work will be delayed. At least letting your clients know in advance will help them plan the work. They can assign it to someone else and get it done if there is some urgency.

If you do this, you will be better able to manage and retain your clients for a long time. Who doesn’t want to work with someone who always stands up for their words?

That’s all I wanted to share in this post. I hope you guys will find it helpful. Also, What are your thoughts about it?

Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
