The One Mistake Most Content Writers Make
Most content writers make this one mistake.
In yesterday's post, I wrote about taking content writing seriously to grow as a content writer. In today's post, I will write about another problem I have witnessed among most content writers. So let's get started.
I started my Blogging career back in 2017. For the first year, I used to write all the content myself. Starting in October 2018, I started building my team of content writers. Since then, I have worked with hundreds of content writers.
Even today, I have 200+ content writers in my phonebook. While working with that many content writers over the years, I have found a common problem in most writers. The problem is simply writing what others have written on the Internet.
When a client assigns a topic to a content writer, it is obvious for them to search for it on Google and read top-ranking pages for research purposes. It is entirely okay, but the mistake most writers make is they only rely on top-ranking pages. They simply iterate the same thing in their articles and submit them to the client.
I think it is the worst approach a writer could take while writing an article. You shouldn't be writing the same thing that is already there on the Internet. How can you be so sure that existing informations are correct? You, as a writer, should not believe anything and everything that is there on the Internet.
Your goal should be to offer a different perspective. It could be your personal experience around that topic or something you found in your testing. Most writers I met simply write what others have already written. This is why I advised first to select a niche. If you are writing about something you already know, you can develop a unique perspective.
Something you have experienced or tested while doing the research. Stop believing what others have written; always think that what others have written may not be entirely correct. When writing about a topic of your interest, you will never be short of personal opinions. This approach becomes even more important if you are a Technical writer writing feature content.
Finding a writer who does their research and adds a unique perspective is so rare. Trust me when I say rare; it really is. If I work with ten writers, only one or two have this approach. And the best part is those writers have grown tremendously in their careers.
So, if you also want to become an expert writer within your niche, don't just write what others have already written. This only piece of advice will not just help you get high-paying clients but will also help you retain them.
That's all I wanted to share in this post. I hope some of you will benefit from it and implement my suggestions.
Thanks for reading.
Have a great day!
