How to Create and Share Text Content as a Creator
This is how you should create and share text content as an individual content creator.
In my last post, I discussed the three forms of content (Text, Video, Audio) you can create as an individual content creator. In today’s post, I will write about how you can create and share text content.
Let’s first start with creating text content. As an individual content creator, you will be mostly sharing your experience with others to build your personal brand. Writing about your own experience will be an easy affair for you. The type of content you will create will differ based on where you post it.
There are basically two places where you can post your text content on the Internet:
- On Social Media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter
- On your Personal Blog
On Social Media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter: If you are just starting out with text content creation, posting on social media is much easier to start in comparison to sharing on your personal blog. Most of you already have social media accounts on platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter. All you have to do is create text content and share it on your account. The best part about sharing content on social media is you don’t have to worry about the audience. These platforms already have an audience, and they have algorithms to promote content to their users. However, If you start a personal blog, no one knows about it, and there will be hardly anyone visiting it.
On your Personal Blog: Writing on social media platforms has its own limitations. You can’t post more than a specific character limit on some platforms. Even if you do, you will have a hard time monetizing it. In that situation, it is better to start a Blog. You can publish some of the content on your blog. You will have much better control there. You can easily monetize it with ads, affiliates, and sponsorships.
Now one question you may have is how to differentiate between which content to post on social media and which on Blog. Let me answer it by giving an example of how I think. If you have text content you can create, but no one on the Internet is looking for it, then you should share it on social media platforms. On social media, you can write about topics no one is looking for and don’t even worry about reach, as the platform’s algorithm will give you the reach. At the same time, if you have a content idea people are searching for on the Internet, you should write about it on your Blog. You can leverage SEO to rank your blog on those searches, ultimately getting traffic to your blog. Later you can monetize the traffic with ads, affiliates, etc.
If you are trying to convey something no one is looking for, use social media. Suppose everyone is searching for that content, then post it on your blog.
This is the strategy I wanted to share about creating and sharing text content as an individual content creator. I hope you got the idea.
That’s it for this post.
