How You Can Start Your Personal Blog

· 3 min read

This is how you can start your personal blog.

In yesterday’s post, I explained the difference between the different types of blogs we have on the Internet. I was about to explain how you can share your text content by starting a personal blog. But many newbies often get confused between a personal blog and a blog started as a media brand.

That’s why my main goal behind writing that post was to explain the difference between blogs to beginners. Now, I hope you guys understand the difference between a personal blog, a blog started by media companies, and the blog of a non-media company.

As my current series of posts are around Individual content creation, my next few posts and the strategies shared in them will be primarily around running a personal blog and not a media brand. Of course, I will explain starting a media brand later when I am done creating content around individual content creation. So stay tuned for that.

Now coming to the actual topic. Suppose you have started sharing text content on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter. As these platforms don’t have a direct monetization method and you don’t own your audience so, after a period of time, you will need a personal blog for yourself. There you can write content around topics that people are searching for. You can also send your followers to your website.

Now the question arrives how can you start a personal blog? Many of those who are new to all this think starting a Blog is very difficult and needs a lot of technical knowledge. They even hire someone to do this thing and pay a handsome amount.

Gone are the days when coding knowledge was required to start a blog. Now we have several no-code tools to start a blog. I recommend self-hosted WordPress to everyone.

All you need is a domain name which preferably will be around your name or a variant of your name as it is going to be a personal blog. Next, you will need reliable hosting. In the beginning, you can start with any shared hosting.

Almost every hosting platform these days allows the direct installation of WordPress. Once you have installed WordPress, your site will be live on the Internet. Yes, it is that easy to create a blog.

Later you can use a free WordPress theme to customize the look and feel of your Blog. There are plenty of videos on YouTube from which you can take help. If you get stuck anywhere in the process, feel free to contact me, and I will help in every possible way at no cost.

When you have set up your blog, you can start writing around topics people are searching for, and you also know. If you continue it for a few months, you will start getting visitors, and then you can try monetizing with ads, affiliates, etc. So this is basically how you can start a personal blog.

That’s all I have to say in this post.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
