Should You Use AI-Generated Content Like ChatGPT on Your Blog?
Should you use content generated by AI tools like ChatGPT on your blog?
In my last few posts, I wrote about how you can get content written for your blog. I explained either you can write yourself or hire a team of content writers. So basically, the traditional ways of getting content written.
OpenAI released its large language model called ChatGPT on 30th November 2022. Ever since its release ChatGPT has been the talk of the town. It has insane capabilities, from writing codes, creating summaries to writing content and more.
It wasn't that there were no AI tools capable of creating content before ChatGPT. Actually, we had the tools like Jasper which could help generate content, but now thanks to ChatGPT's popularity and free availability, everyone has access to such tools.
In the last few months, several bloggers reached out to me and asked if they could use AI tools like ChatGPT to create content for their blogs.
Some of you may have similar doubts about whether you can use ChatGPT to create content for your blog. So, in today's post, I will share what I think about it.
When we ask ChatGPT to generate content around a topic, it analyzes all the existing information on the web and then come up with the content. So basically, a spinned version of the content that pre-exists on the web.
As you know ChatGPT has information only till 2021, so it misses out on the latest developments. Also, it is often seen that ChatGPT generates several misinformation.
What I think, if you copy-paste the content generated by ChatGPT, it will be a spinner, plagiarised content. Not just that, it will miss out on the latest information and also include wrong facts.
With all these issues, there is no way a serious blogger could copy-paste ChatGPT content and fulfill content writing needs. So, my suggestion will be to not use tools like ChatGPT as a direct alternative for writing content.
Now comes the second use case: using ChatGPT for research. Yes, that could be a right approach. Till now, if we had to write on a topic, we still had to search for it on Google and go through several websites to do the research.
We had all the content written earlier as well, but we never thought of copy paste then; why now with ChatGPT?
Take ChatGPT as a research tool like Google, which you were using earlier to gather information about a topic. Use both to complete your research and take your own notes while doing the research.
When you have enough knowledge about that topic, write content. No matter whether you are writing for your own blog or for your client, this is how your approach should be.
Never ever think you could use ChatGPT-generated content and grow your blog. If that was the case, why would I had paid over 2 Lakh Indian Rupees to content writers just last month?
If you want to make big into Blogging, stop thinking about taking any such shortcuts. Do the hard work, and you will get the success.
I hope now you got a clear answer on whether you should use AI-generated content on your blog.
That’s all in this post.
Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
