The Type of Content to Rank Your New Blog From Day 1

· 3 min read

This is the type of content you should publish to rank your new blog from day 1.

In my yesterday’s post, I explained the differences between news content and evergreen content. I suggested new bloggers to focus on publishing evergreen content.

Most beginners think evergreen means old topics that are searched regularly. What I think, evergreen content does not always mean that the classic topics with a regular search volume.

If done correctly, you can also convert the latest trends into evergreen topics. As you will agree that today’s trends will become tomorrow’s evergreen content. Also, by doing this, you will never run out of topics within your niche.

Even in evergreen content, the strategy will differ based on whether you have just started your blog or your blog is a little older and ranks instantly in search engines.

If you have just started your blog, your new content will not get indexed in search engines. At this time, if you publish evergreen articles that are derived from the latest trends will not be helpful.

As your articles are not getting indexed in search engines, even if you cover those topics, your content will not rank instantly. By the time it will rank, the searches of that trend will be relatively lower, and also, there will be higher competition.

So, converting trends into evergreen pieces makes sense for sites that get indexed in search engines within a few minutes of publishing the content.

So, if you just started your blog, focus on pure evergreen content. Only write about the topics that are not going to fade away. Although your evergreen articles will also not be indexed initially, whenever they get indexed, they will start getting visitors as those topics will have a regular flow of searches.

Even in pure evergreen content, don’t go all out and start targeting highly competitive evergreen topics within your niche. Try to find keywords that no one else has covered yet or only a few sites have covered. If you do this, there will be much higher chances of ranking. This thing works like magic. As you are filling the content gap, search engines will have no option other than ranking your site, even if it is newer.

Newbie bloggers make the mistake, and they start targeting highly competitive evergreen keywords from day one. And even after publishing hundreds of articles, they don’t get any success. So, my suggestion will always be to publish topics that are untapped in nature. This is the strategy I use to rank all my new projects, and it works wonders for me.

Now the main challenge beginners face is finding those evergreen topics on which they can publish content. So, in the coming posts, I will share my methods of finding such evergreen topics. So, please stay tuned for that.

That’s all in this post.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
