How to Find Untapped Evergreen Topics for Your Blog
This is how you can find untapped evergreen topics for your blog.
In my yesterday's post, I wrote the type of content you should publish to rank your new blog from day 1. My suggestion for beginner bloggers is to initially publish pure evergreen content. Also, the topics you target should be untapped.
Later, when the blog start getting indexed after a few months, then gradually start including evergreen topics derived from the latest trends.
You might already have heard the same advice from others. But what remains complicated is how to find those untapped evergreen topics. And that's exactly what I will try to solve with today's post.
Most Blogging Gurus advise to do keyword research using tools like Semrush and Ahrefs. These tools may work for them, but I don't think beginners will be able to use them. First, these tools are expensive and those who are just starting can't afford them.
Second, if you do keyword research using these tools, you will be looking at the same topics as your competitors. Also, you can't rely entirely on the search volume and keyword difficulty of these tools.
So, I personally do not use any of these SEO tools for finding untapped evergreen topics.
What I use is Google Search Autosuggestion. Some of you may not be able to understand it. Let me explain it; Google Autosuggestion is the suggestion that appears in Google Search when you search for any keyword. And this is what I use for keyword research.
The best part about Auto Suggestion is it gets updated in real-time. If a term is getting suggested by Google itself, then it means there are searches for it, and you can confidently target it.
There may be some other Bloggers using this strategy, but I have developed a unique way of leveraging Google Search Auto Suggestions. I type the main keyword in Google and then wait for the suggestions to appear.
After it, I type "a" and then "b," "c", and so on to "z." With each alphabet, the suggestions change, and I get tons of new topic ideas. I take a note of all of them and later search all those topics on Google.
Among them, I easily found several topics that are completely untapped. Some of you may say there will be no search volume for those suggestions, but I personally don't check the search volume. I find the topics, cover them, and they bring traffic based on their respective search volume.
I have tried it on three of my sites, and it has worked wonders for me. So, I will suggest all of you to give it a try, and you will also see good results.
Some of you may not know how exactly to use this Auto Suggestion thing to find untapped topics. No worries, in tomorrow's post, I will write about using Auto Suggestion to find untapped topics in detail. So, please stay tuned for that.
For now, that's all in this post. I hope you got a new perspective on doing keyword research.
